knowing the land

We feel blessed to be stewards of this piece of earth, and we take this responsibility seriously.

With harsh winters and lots of water, we’ve learned to make things sustainable including grey water management and composting practices. We use low till or no till practices for our growing of trees and veggies and fruits, and while we are not certified organic, we hew to those principles. Our medicinals are cultivated but many grow naturally and happily all over our acres.

Our bees are Carniolan mutts - suited to winter and the wild. They gather from the rich diversity of wildflowers and flowering trees at the farm to form a delicious and unique honey that changes with the season. Kept without artificial chemicals and as much respecting their rhythm and ways as possible. We hope you will agree as we do that this is the best honey!

Our goal is for our 45 acres of forest, farm and fields to sustain our family and produce goodness for our community.

One faith is bondage. Two are free.
In the trust of old love, cultivation shows
a dark graceful wilderness at its heart. Wild
in that wilderness, we roam the distances of our faith,
safe beyond the bounds of what we know.
O love, open. Show me my country. Take me home.
